This course is for students of all musical abilities who would like to play guitar and make music together in a friendly group setting.
Learning to play beautiful music together in a group is emotionally, mentally and physically therapeutic. In this friendly and relaxed guitar group we will warm up with simple, well known nursery rounds and folk tunes. Guitar arrangements of orchestral classics will enable absolute beginners, intermediate and advanced players to enjoy performing excerpts from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. As well as finger-picking techniques, you will learn how to read simple melody and bass lines as well as chords. This course offers a very rewarding way to improve concentration as well as provide a fun, friendly and welcoming way to come together with other like-minded people.
N.B. Students are encouraged to bring their own nylon string folk/classical guitars, although several guitars will be available for use by those without instruments of their own.
This 6-week course will meet Thursdays on: 18th, 25th July, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th August
