This course is for anyone who wants to explore and enjoy the outdoors to cultivate wellness.

This 4-week course from OrganicArts is based at West Town Farm, Ide, a beautiful little village just outside Exeter. Taking gentle walks around the farm we will explore the hedgerows, walk along an old railway line and experience fantastic views whilst collecting materials grown and produced around the farm. Clay, willow, earth pigments, hedgerow plants and flowers, charcoal and other natural materials will provide the inspiration for students to express their creativity through processes including assemblage, sculpture, drawing, poetry, and photography. Each week will include a different walk with a different creative theme, informed by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Connect; Be Active; Take Notice; Keep Learning and Give. As well as creating individual works of your own, there will be creative opportunities to add to collective pieces of work.

This 4-week course will meet Tuesdays on: 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th August
N.B. Lunch is not provided so students are asked to bring a packed lunch.

Transport: Please inform our admin team if you will require free minibus transport between Exeter and OrganicArts. To catch the minibus, we will meet at 1:00pm in Exeter outside CoLab (formerly Wat Tyler House), 3 King William Street, Exeter EX4 6PD and then pick up in Cowick Street (1:15pm) outside Clarke’s Electricals (red neon sign ‘ghd’) – returning about 4:30pm
