This course is for anyone concerned about feeling isolated and disconnected from others in their present life or immediate future.


Connection Reflection: Making the Most of Your Social Groups

This 5-week course offers an evidence-based group programme designed to help people learn to understand and manage their social relationships with the goal of improving health and well-being. Sessions are discussion-based and reflective, with the aim of providing opportunities to share insights and to practise social skills in a small facilitated group setting.

Topics will include 1) Why do your social group ties matter? 2) Mapping your social world, 3) How to make the most of your existing social networks, 4) Building new connections and drawing up a plan of action. During the 4-week gap you will have time to put your plans into action. Then in the last session, 5) Reflections on progress so far; Ensuring your group ties endure.

This 5-week course will meet Fridays on: 26th April, 3rd,10th, 17th May and 14th June
