This course is for students of all abilities with a creative interest in the outdoors. Please bring suitable clothing for changeable weather; walking shoes or boots are essential.
There is something wonderfully transient and elusive as well as healing about making art outdoors. It doesn’t last; change is inevitable. Beaches especially offer vast amounts of inspiration for making sandcastles, drawings in the sand, stone stacks, pebble patterns and driftwood sculpture, and as we walk away or watch the waves come in we recognise and accept that the wind, the rain, the waves will dissolve our creations or wash them away. This full-day course will take you on a relatively flat, medium-grade walk from the Hunter’s Inn to Heddon’s Mouth where you will spend time either individually or as a group making art on the beach using only the materials you find there.
N.B. Lunch is not provided, therefore, students are kindly asked to bring their own packed lunch.
